With both kids heading off to college soon, I’ve been thinking of gifting myself a little eyelid refresh. I’ve heard that blepharoplasty has a pretty quick recovery period, and since I work from home as a dental hygienist consultant, I’m hoping it won’t disrupt my work too much. For those who have had upper or lower eyelid surgery and worked from home during the recovery, how did you find balancing rest with work? How long did it take before you felt comfortable turning on the webcam for meetings? I’d love to hear your experiences!
I found that keeping my head elevated as much as possible during the first few days really helped reduce swelling and bruising. I also kept a cool, gently damp cloth on my eyes every couple of hours, it felt so soothing and helped with inflammation. Plus, I took it easy with makeup for about a week, just to be extra gentle around the area!
I had mine done last year and was surprised how quickly I could return to my desk, but I did keep the cold compresses handy for a few days. I think working from home really helped with the downtime, especially since I could just relax and monitor any swelling.
