How do you tell your injector you want less, not more?

I’ve been getting fillers for a few years now and while I love the subtle enhancements, I’ve started feeling like it might be a bit too much lately. It’s such a fine line between looking refreshed and looking overdone. My injector always seems to want to add more, but I think I might want to dial it back a little for a more natural look. How do you communicate to your injector that you want less than what they might suggest?

totally get that, overfilling is no fun at all

I usually mention I want a very natural look, almost like just a little smoothing, not to erase everything. I also ask about how long any adjustments or corrections might take because I’m not keen on a long recovery or being off the road too long.

I always figure it’s better to start slow and then adapt if I want a tad more later. I make it clear I prefer a realy natural look and ask my injector to aim for subtlety, especially around my forehead. It’s all about good communication and feeling comfortable asking for adjustments.

I’ve found that being really clear from the start about wanting a subtle change helps a lot. Sometimes I say something like, “I want to look like myself, but just a bit fresher,” and ask them to start with less rather than more. It makes me feel more comfortable, especially because I’m always thinking about how long any corrections or adjustments might take during recovery.

just be honest with your injector about what you’re feeling. during my last appointment, I told them I wanted to tone it down a bit because I was starting to look frozen. they appreciated the feedback and adjusted the amount without any fuss. it really helped for the next session, so don’t hesitate to express what you want.
