Anyone regret starting filler in their forties?

I started getting dermal fillers about two years ago after noticing some volume loss in my cheeks and fine lines around my mouth. At first, I loved the youthful plumpness they provided, but sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice, especially as I see friends who haven’t done anything and still look great. I’ve heard mixed feelings from others who have started fillers later in life. For those of you in your forties who have tried fillers, do you ever regret it? What’s your experience been like as time has passed?

I started filler in my mid-forties mainly to smooth out some deep smile lines, and honestly, I don’t regret it because it gave me a subtle lift without looking overdone. That said, I did notice after a few months some unevenness that required a small touch-up, so patience and realistic expectations helped a lot. Is that silly? I was worried it would look fake, but keeping it minimal made a big difference.

The key for me was going to a clinic that emphasizes natural results and making sure I only used enough to subtly lift and reshape. I think the biggest mistake some make is going too much at once or not doing enough research on how to maintain a natural appearance over time.

My skin just looks fresher, which is a big plus when you’re waving goodbye as both kids leave for college. As long as you find someone who does a natural look, it’s amazing how it can turn back the clock just a little bit without looking overdone.
