What is hormone replacement?

Hi everyone! I’m Anna (@thinkingqueen), and lately, I’ve been feeling so “off”—constant fatigue, brain fog, and just not feeling like myself anymore. I’ve been reading bits and pieces about hormone replacement therapy, but honestly, it’s all a bit overwhelming. Is it just for menopause, or can it help with general imbalances too? What exactly is the process like, and how do you even know if your levels are the culprit? I’m just starting my research and would love to hear your personal experiences or any advice on where to begin looking for answers. Thanks so much!

Hi Anna! Welcome to the forum. I’ve been around the block with various treatments and aesthetic procedures, and I can tell you that feeling “off” is something many of us have dealt with.

To answer your question, hormone replacement isn’t just for menopause; it’s often used for various imbalances that impact our quality of life. When I first started looking into my own health journey, I felt just as overwhelmed as you do. The best advice I can give is to stop guessing and start with data. You really need to find a board-certified provider who specializes in endocrinology or functional medicine to run a full panel of blood work. They’ll be able to tell you if your levels are actually the culprit. Don’t settle for a quick fix—do your research and advocate for yourself!

The brain fog part is what gets me. For about a year I was convinced it was my diet. I threw so much money at specialty grocery stores buying weird powders and every supplement you can imagine. I cut out gluten, then dairy. I even gave up coffee for a week which was just a terrible idea all around lol
