Hey everyone,
I’m just starting to explore the idea of getting some work done, but I’m feeling a bit lost when it comes to finding the right plastic surgeon. There are so many options out there! What should I be looking for in a good surgeon? Are there specific credentials or things to ask during consultations? Also, if anyone has personal recommendations or experiences to share, that would be amazing. I want to make sure I choose someone skilled and trustworthy. Thanks in advance!

Hi Amanda! Welcome to the group. I remember feeling exactly the same way when I first started looking into procedures—it’s definitely a lot to take in!
My biggest piece of advice is to ensure any surgeon you consider is board-certified. This was a non-negotiable for me because it guarantees a specific level of training and safety standards. During my own consultations, I found it super helpful to ask for before-and-after photos of patients with similar body types or features to mine. It really gave me a better sense of their aesthetic style.
Also, don’t feel pressured to decide right away. If you don’t “click” with a doctor or their staff, it’s perfectly okay to keep looking. Trusting your gut is just as important as checking credentials! Good luck!
Still researching everything myself, it is so overwhelming.
you should just pick the one with the nicest office because it really helps you feel relaxed during the appointments. i went to one place that had old chairs and it made me so nervous that i just left.
For me, it helped to check out real patient reviews online and see what kind of follow-up support they offer after the procedure, especially for something like a facelift or Botox. Sometimes the nicest office can hide if they’re not really available when issues come up. And asking about their experience with women going through menopause made me feel more confident, they understand the hormonal changes that can affect healing and results.
