Hey everyone! I’m finally starting to look into body contouring after years of feeling self-conscious about my midsection. I’m just at the beginning of my research, but I’m totally overwhelmed by the price range. How much is liposuction actually going to set me back? I’m trying to figure out how much liposuction usually costs in major cities and what’s actually included in that price. Does the total depend on how much liposuction I’m getting done in one session? I’d love to hear your experiences with budgeting for this. Any advice on what I should expect would be so appreciated!
The cost for liposuction can range from $4,000 to over $7,500, with my quote being $5,000 for my midsection with Dr. Alexander P. Moya in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. I totally get how overwhelming the research can be! The cost really does vary a lot by surgeon, your location, and how many areas you’re treating in one session. Make sure any quote you get is all-inclusive and breaks down the surgeon’s fee, facility costs, and anesthesia so there are no surprises. My biggest advice is to consult with a few different board-certified plastic surgeons to find someone you trust. You’ll get a feel for the right fit for your budget and goals. Good luck with your journey!
For my lower tummy and love handles in Chicago it was $6,200 all-in, and that included anesthesia and the aftercare garments. Price went up when I added my upper back so definitely depends on how many spots you want done.
Remember to factor in the cost of follow-up visits since some surgeons include them and others charge extra, which can add up.
My quotes are all over the place too.
i have to disagree with the person who mentioned needing a backup compression garment. honestly, i think that is a total waste of money. i just hand washed mine in the sink with some gentle soap every night and hung it in front of a fan. it was dry by the next morning every single time. save your cash for the surgery itself instead of buying two of those expensive things. also, consider the cost of prescriptions. my surgeon did not include my pain meds or antibiotics in the package price, so i had to pay for those at the pharmacy out of pocket. check if your quote covers those meds because that was an extra hundred bucks i was not expecting to drop on top of the procedure.
I had liposuction done on my thighs a couple of years ago, and while the base price was around $6,000, I learned that costs can escalate quickly with additional areas and unexpected expenses. In my case, my quote did include anesthesia but not the follow-up medications, which ended up adding an extra $150. It’s definitely worth asking upfront for a full breakdown to avoid surprises, especially if you have any questions about aftercare costs.
I think a big part of the cost also depends on the type of anesthesia used, some places charge way more for general than local, but I wasn’t sure if that’s usually included or an extra fee. Also curious how long people had to wait before driving themselves home after the procedure?
