How do you vet a surgeon when every review site looks paid?

I’ve been considering some cosmetic procedures and started researching surgeons online, but honestly, every review site seems suspect to me. It’s hard to tell who’s genuine and who’s just paid to boost their ratings. How do you guys manage to find a trustworthy provider when the reviews all seem a little too polished? Do you have any tips for digging deeper beyond the review websites?

It can be so tricky, right? I usually try to chat with people who have been to the surgeon, like friends or even folks in those local beauty Facebook groups. Also, if they offer a consultation, I ask plenty of questions and see how comfortable I feel; trust your gut! :sparkles:

What worked for me was reaching out to local support groups or forums where people had recent procedures and asking for honest opinions. I found that folks who didn’t mind a no-frills chat and had actually gone through surgery were way more reliable than the polished reviews online. Plus, if someone avoided glowing praise and was willing to share side effects or mishaps, I took that as a good sign they were real.

the flood of overly positive reviews makes me suspicious too.

I found it super frustrating because everyone says just read reviews but then they all feel kind of fake? I ended up asking a few people in my town who had eyelid surgery and got their recommendations that way, feels more trustworthy if it’s someone you can actually talk to, is that silly?
